Hearth and Pool has been a huge part of our family for more than 40 years! 

Mark Sweeney, the founder of our company, got his start in the woodstove and fireplace business in 1979. In 1981, he purchased Tahlequah's Wood Stove Shoppe, then expanded his business shortly after in 1986 to include swimming pool and spa service and repair. In 1999, Mark began running his business - soon to be called Hearth and Pool Services - out of his home on Highway 10, near Tahlequah. He began expanding quickly, with Corey Kinsey (Mark's son) and Brent Colvard (a long-time friend) joining the business in 2000 and becoming co-owners in 2007 and 2012, respectively.

In 2015, Hearth and Pool Services relocated to its current location on Highway 82, north of Tahlequah. At this time, Mark's daughter also became more involved in the business. She had often helped where she could throughout her childhood -- such as by assisting him with pool cleanings in the summers and putting stamps on chimney cleaning reminders in the winters -- but was able to take on more responsibilities as an office assistant in high school. After graduating, Hannah continued to work at Hearth and Pool Services in a retail and customer service position, where she is still involved today. 

In 2019, Nathan Wright - Hannah's husband as of February 2022, making him Mark's son-in-law - joined the business as a service technician. He gained a wealth of experience from Mark, Brent, Corey, and other long-time employees, as well as through the many educational opportunities he participated in to gain his multiple certifications. 

In 2022, Nathan and Hannah purchased Hearth and Pool Services, which has now become Hearth and Pool. With Nathan in charge, we have continued to provide quality stove, fireplace, pool, and spa services to our community. We are so grateful to have the opportunity to carry on this legacy while striving to develop lasting, trusting relationships with our clients!

Our service technicians maintain multiple certifications, including the Chimney Safety Institute of America's (CSIA) Certified Chimney Sweep credential as well as the National Fireplace Institute's (NFI) Gas Specialist, Wood Specialist, and Pellet Specialist credentials. They also participate in many continuing education opportunities and attend professional conferences each year in order to stay up-to-date on the most current safety standards and practices in the hearth industry.
